Lee Dawn is an in-house graphic designer by day and a freelance illustrator by night. She lives in Northern California with her partner who is also an illustrator in a tiny house full of plants. She works primarily in fantasy tabletop gaming and middle grade children's books, but is always interested by anything magical and unusual.
She attended Sierra College in Rocklin, CA and earned a degree in Illustration (AA), Studio Arts (AA), and Graphic Design (AA) with Deans List Honors. She will be pursuing a BA in Illustration at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
She was raised on a steady diet of folklore and history which she never quite shook. Her work is influenced by the arts & crafts movement, folk art, medieval manuscripts, and early commercial illustration. She works in watercolor, gouache, and pen & ink.
In her spare time, she works on personal projects such as The Pocket Field Guide to Root People and The Illuminated Tarot. She can also be found peddling her handmade prints, books, and original works at various conventions.
